A Semiconductor Laser For Laser Communications Applications

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
A coherent array of 10 amplifiers has been demonstrated using an active integrated optics technology based on AlGaAs laser diode material. These arrays have demonstrated power outputs of 300 mW CW with only 2 mW injected power. The fractional coherence between any two amplifiers in the array is greater than 0.8. These arrays have been used to amplify a

Lasers in Communications

Optics and Photonics News, 2010
Low-cost semiconductor lasers power the shortest networks in the data center and the long-haul links that speed information around the globe. Today, lasers are integrated into photonic circuitry and even optical cables.

Laser Communication Theorem and New Communication Engineering Revolution

2021 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Information Systems, 2021
Laser is in the particles that make up the material, with different number of particles distribution on different level, on the high level of particles by a photon excitation, the energy level jump (transition) from high to low level, at this time will radiate this light is the same and stimulate the nature of light, and in a certain state, can appear ...

Interplanetary Laser Communications

Optics and Photonics News, 2007
Lasers could enable deep-space communication between Earth and planets at the farthest reaches of our solar system. Over the next two decades, optical communications technology is expected to deliver at least an order-of-magnitude higher data rate than conventional radio frequency systems from deep space.

Digital communication with synchronized chaotic lasers

Optics Letters, 1994
We propose a scheme for encoding digital data within a spiky chaotic carrier from a loss-modulated solid-state laser. Decoding is performed in real time with a synchronized chaotic laser system.

Laser Communication Systems

2009
A communication system is designed to transmit and receive information. The information to be sent is generally superimposed by modulation onto an electromagnetic wave called a carrier. It is then transmitted to a receiver where the information is recovered by demodulation. Various types of communication systems are often designated by the location of

Laser applications to communication

Zeitschrift für angewandte Mathematik und Physik ZAMP, 1965
This short review has shown the existence of several serious uncertainties on actual possibilities of long-distance laser communication systems. We must however point out that lasers only appeared a few years ago and that notwithstanding the great effort going on in many laboratories, many aspects of the problems concerning the application of laser to ...
