Laser display technology

Proceedings MEMS 98. IEEE. Eleventh Annual International Workshop on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems. An Investigation of Micro Structures, Sensors, Actuators, Machines and Systems (Cat. No.98CH36176), 2002
A new laser projection system is presented within this paper. The working principle and the main components are discussed. A cost effective and small sized laser projection system becomes possible by the use of solid-state lasers and the application of microsystem devices for laser beam deflection.

Laser-based displays: a review

Applied Optics, 2010
After the invention of lasers, in the past 50 years progress made in laser-based display technology has been very promising, with commercial products awaiting release to the mass market. Compact laser systems, such as edge-emitting diodes, vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers, and optically pumped semiconductor lasers, are suitable candidates for ...

Laser Breakdown 3D Display

IEICE Transactions on Electronics, 2008
Liquid medium was investigated for creation of real 3D dynamic color images on a basis of laser breakdown effect experimentally. It was shown, that breakdown plasma flash in liquid can be used as a shining voxel of white color. Plasma flashing voxels were produced by means of YAG laser with repetition rate up to 2000Hz of nanosecond mJ pulses ...

Scanning laser beam displays

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
A projector with a height of 7 mm has been developed. The projector uses a two dimensional MEMS, a red and blue diode laser and a second harmonic green laser. This projector module is able to display images with a WVGA resolution while consuming 1.5 W.
