Laser irradiation effects on gold
Laser Physics, 2007Investigations on the laser irradiation effects on gold are explored in terms of plasma-plume dynamics and morphological and crystallographic changes. Annealed 4N gold samples were irradiated with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (53 mJ, 21 MW, 532 nm, and pulse width 6–8 ns) for plume dynamics using 10-ns gated fast photography.

The rapid development of laser technology has provided the biomedical community with a variety of intense sources of electromagnetic radiation in the visible and infrared spectrum. When laser radiation strikes tissue, it absorbs a portion of the incident energy. The absorbed energy elevates the temperature of the tissue, and if the temperature increase

Lubricant Pickup Under Laser Irradiation
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2011Hard disk lubricants play important roles at head-disk interfaces. Heat assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) is a promising approach for enabling large increases in the storage density of hard disk drives. Under HAMR conditions, lubricated thin films on hard disk surfaces should satisfy all tribological properties.

Graphene Laser Irradiation CVD Growth
2015We have demonstrated a simple method of directly synthesizing graphene on dielectric surfaces using laser irradiation without a carbon source gas. The position of the graphene synthesis was precisely controlled. Moreover, channels were formed during graphene synthesis by scanning the laser beam across the substrate.
