Ultranarrow linewidth waveguide excimer lasers

Applied Optics, 1989
We have constructed a single longitudinal mode XeCl laser using microwave discharge waveguide laser technology. The pulse duration, repetition rate, and simplicity of construction associated with waveguide excimer lasers lend this system unique capabilities and a broad utility for interfacing with other excimer devices.

Hybrid integrated narrow-linewidth semiconductor lasers

Applied Optics, 2023
Integrated narrow-linewidth lasers are the key devices in compact coherent optical systems of metrology, sensing, and optical microwave generation. Here, we demonstrate a hybrid integrated laser based on an optical negative feedback scheme.

Laser diode linewidth measurements

Proceedings of 2003 5th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks, 2003., 2004
A spectrum of laser diode radiation forms a qualitative criterion of the laser diode applicability as a fiber telecommunications source. Hence, there is need to measure/estimate its spectral linewidth. Having a few different commercial laser sources at the range of third telecommunication window we developed laser linewidth measurements.

Laser Linewidth

Physics Today, 1985
One of the most important properties of laser light is its spectral purity and coherence. This unique quality has been important for the study of many new physical phenomena using laser sources that operate from the vacuum ultraviolet to the far infrared.

Future Narrow Linewidth Lasers

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2015
We describe the challenges and solutions for future narrow linewidth lasers with small footprint. We fabricated DR laser array based narrower linewiedth TLS. We introduce ITXA of a co-packaged DFB array based TLS and InP-based modulator.

Submicrometer-Linewidth Laser Doping

MRS Proceedings, 1982
ABSTRACTDopant patterns of 250-nm linewidth have been written in silicon by localized heating with a cw laser beam, and then transferred into positive and negative surface-relief patterns by preferential etching. The tightly focused beam both generates free dopant atoms and simultaneously promotes solidstate diffusion into the substrate. Because of the

Microcavity Laser Linewidth Theory

CLEO: 2015, 2015
We present a multimode laser-linewidth formula that generalizes previous theories, including corrections for cavity losses, nonlinear gain and dispersion, but is derived in a more general setting and is therefore applicable to complex wavelength-scale lasers.

Linewidth in microdisk laser

SPIE Proceedings, 1998
Among the attractive features of microcavity lasers for practical applications are the potential for reduced thresholds and the ability to design a mode structure with nearly ideal single mode operation. One of the most important parameters for semiconductor lasers is the linewidth. Generally the linewidth in semiconductor lasers is proportional to the

Semiconductor laser linewidth

Optics and Spectroscopy, 2015
The contribution of quantum fluctuations of the electromagnetic-field amplitude and phase and the medium to the semiconductor laser linewidth is found. It is shown that this contribution increases the linewidth by an order of magnitude in comparison with the contribution of spontaneous radiation.
