In process 3D-sensing for laser material processing
Proceedings Third International Conference on 3-D Digital Imaging and Modeling, 2002In this paper we present a new sensor that can measure on-line the material wear in laser material processing. To meet the demands of industrial production optical rough surfaces have to be measured at low apertures within the rough environment generated by the production process. Hence, common sensors have a quite poor performance.

Process Control of Laser Materials Processing ☆
2010Materials processing using a laser can be fast and precise. Quality control is usually achieved by 'open-loop' adjustment of the laser process for the particular task and workpiece being processed. Each different type of workpiece to be laser processed requires the development of a new procedure.

Excimer Laser Surface Processing of Ceramics: Process and Properties
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1993Surface modification of ceramics has proved to be of benefit in a number of applications. Excimer laser light provides a rapid and efficient means for surface alloying and modification of ceramic materials. The laser pulse can melt the surface of the ceramic as well as a deposited metal layer.

Laser Processing by Using Fluidic Laser Beam Shaper
Volume 1: Advanced Packaging; Emerging Technologies; Modeling and Simulation; Multi-Physics Based Reliability; MEMS and NEMS; Materials and Processes, 2013Laser beam shaping techniques are important to optimize a large number of laser-material processing applications and laser-material interaction studies. The authors have developed a novel fluidic laser beam shaper (FLBS) with merits such as flexiblility, versatility and low cost. This work presents a fundamentally new approach for laser beam shaping by

Liquidly process in femtosecond laser processing
Applied Surface Science, 2009Abstract Nano-sized water-crown like structure in array was firstly generated on metallic thin film by interfering femtosecond laser processing. We named the structure as “nanocrown”. Ridges are standing on the edge of each ablated hole. The shapes of ridges are spike, nano-waterdrop and bead on column. The radius of the top of a spike was just 7 nm,

Superhydrophobic corrosion resistant coatings for copper via IR nanosecond laser processing
Materials Research Express, 2018A series of superhydrophobic coatings with contact angles, exceeding 170° and roll-off angles less than 1.6° on copper alloy was designed using nanosecond IR laser processing, followed by vapor deposition of fluorooxysilane molecules.
