Investigating laser induced phase engineering in MoS2 transistors

open access: yes, 2018
Phase engineering of MoS2 transistors has recently been demonstrated and has led to record low contact resistances. The phase patterning of MoS2 flakes with laser radiation has also been realized via spectroscopic methods, which invites the potential of ...

Remembering Courtney Cazden, 1925–2025

open access: yesReading Research Quarterly, Volume 61, Issue 2, April/May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Here we remember and honor Courtney B. Cazden (1925–2025), whose scholarship, mentorship, and moral clarity profoundly shaped the study of language, literacy, and learning. Drawing on our shared experiences as colleagues, collaborators, students, and friends, we reflect on Courtney's enduring contributions to classroom discourse analysis ...

Precise microstructuring of indium-tin oxide thin films on glass by selective femtosecond laser ablation

open access: yesEPJ Photovoltaics, 2013
Transparent conductive oxide (TCO) thin films were removed from glass substrates using femtosecond laser pulses. Irradiating through the glass, the threshold for complete TCO ablation was much lower than for front-side irradiation.

Thin-film module circuit design: Practical and reliability aspects [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper will address several aspects of the design and construction of submodules based on thin film amorphous silicon (a-Si) p i n solar cells. Starting from presently attainable single cell characteristics, and a realistic set of specifications ...

Universal optical amplification without nonlinearity

open access: yes, 2006
We propose and experimentally realize a new scheme for universal phase-insensitive optical amplification. The presented scheme relies only on linear optics and homodyne detection, thus circumventing the need for nonlinear interaction between a pump field

Enhanced performance of solution‐processed carbon nanotube transparent electrodes in foldable perovskite solar cells through vertical separation of binders by using eco‐friendly parylene substrate

open access: yesCarbon Energy
The successful utilization of an eco‐friendly and biocompatible parylene‐C substrate for high‐performance solution‐processed double‐walled carbon nanotube (CNT) electrode‐based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) was demonstrated.

Double photon excitation of high-Rydberg atoms as a long-lived submillimeter detector [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
A method and apparatus for detecting submillimeter or IR radiation is disclosed. A rare gas, such as xenon, is supplied at its ground state via a pressurized cylinder and an adjustable leak valve into a cryogenically cooled detection area.
