Laser odometry taking account of the tilt on the laser sensor

Localization under water is required for an underwater mobile robot to perform the survey autonomously. There is a conventional method using inertial navigation system as a localization under water, but it takes high costs. In this study, we propose a laser odometry technique as a localization for underwater mobile robots.

Optically scanned laser line sensor

This work presents the system design, motion control and the evaluation of an optical scanning system, which manipulates only the illumination path of a laser line sensor by a galvanometer scanner. The selected system design minimizes aberrations due to the optical scanning through the scanner placement.

FIBER LASER HYDROPHONES AS PRESSURE SENSORS

The development of hydro-phonic sensors for deep see acoustic detection is described. The sensitive element is an erbium-doped single mode fiber laser, with the cavity delimited by two Bragg grating reflectors. The variations of temperature and pressure perturb the cavity, inducing a wavelength shift.
