Advances in laser speckle imaging: From qualitative to quantitative hemodynamic assessment

Journal of Biophotonics, 2023
Laser speckle imaging (LSI) techniques have emerged as a promising method for visualizing functional blood vessels and tissue perfusion by analyzing the speckle patterns generated by coherent light interacting with living biological tissue.

Interferometric dynamic laser speckle imaging

Biophotonics Congress: Optics in the Life Sciences 2023 (OMA, NTM, BODA, OMP, BRAIN), 2023
We developed interferometric dynamic laser speckle imaging (iDLSI) capable of three-dimensional volumetric measurements of the blood flow. Here, we present the numerical and analytical model for g2,iDLSI(τ) and perform preliminary measurement in the mouse brain.

Dilated Residual Learning With Skip Connections for Real-Time Denoising of Laser Speckle Imaging of Blood Flow in a Log-Transformed Domain

IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, 2019
Laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) is a wide-field and noncontact imaging technology for mapping blood flow. Although the denoising method based on block-matching and three-dimensional transform-domain collaborative filtering (BM3D) was proposed to ...

Manhattan Distance-Based Adaptive 3D Transform-Domain Collaborative Filtering for Laser Speckle Imaging of Blood Flow

IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, 2019
Laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) is a full-field, noncontact imaging technology for mapping blood flow with high spatio-temporal resolution, in which the speckle contrast can be estimated either in spatial domain or temporal domain.

Tracking and navigation of a microswarm under laser speckle contrast imaging for targeted delivery

Science Robotics
Micro/nanorobotic swarms consisting of numerous tiny building blocks show great potential in biomedical applications because of their collective active delivery ability, enhanced imaging contrast, and environment-adaptive capability.

A Portable Surface Roughness Measurement System Using Laser Speckle Imaging Based on GLCM

International Conference on Agents, 2019
Laser is a light that has a coherent and high intensity compared to other light sources. If the rough surface is illuminated by a laser beam, speckle patterns will be formed, this occurs because of the laser light scattering.

Blood velocity measurements using laser speckle imaging

The 26th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005
Blood velocity measurements in the skin of pigs are reported. Measurements were obtained using laser speckle contrast analysis with a multiple scattering correction. Laser speckle contrast analysis is a rapid technique for obtaining a velocity mapping of perfused tissue.

Fluctuations of temporal contrast in laser speckle imaging of blood flow.

Optics Letters, 2018
Laser speckle contrast imaging can be used to estimate changes in blood flow velocity in either the spatial or temporal domain. Temporal speckle contrast analysis provides higher spatial resolution than spatial speckle contrast does.
