Endoscopic laser treatment has been tried for hemostasis, relief of stenosis and reduction of tumor volume in advanced upper gastrointestinal cancer. This form of treatment was found to be effective for each purpose, but success was usually only temporary.

Laser therapy of childhood haemangiomas
British Journal of Dermatology, 1995A total of 37 haemangiomas were treated in 28 patients by means of the flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser (FPDL). Twenty-nine haemangiomas were classified as superficial, and eight as mixed type. Laser Therapy for Retinopathy of Prematurity
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 1993ABSTRACT Nine patients were treated with indirect ophthalmoscope argon laser photocoagulation for threshold retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). A total of 16 eyes were treated at an average postconceptional age of 36.31 weeks. All eyes demonstrated regression of threshold ROP. Follow up was between 1 and 14 months postoperatively.
