Restriction on the arrangement of laser trackers in laser trilateration

Measurement Science and Technology, 1998
Laser trilateration is an effective technique for measuring three-dimensional coordinates. Taking advantage of a fourth laser tracker, the positions of all four laser trackers can be determined by a self-calibration algorithm. We show a restriction on the arrangement of laser trackers, namely, no tracker must exist on the plane defined by the other ...

Dynamic testing of laser trackers

CIRP Annals - Manufacturing Technology, 2015
Abstract Laser trackers measure and report the three-dimensional location of a retroreflector target in space. Inaccuracies in the rotary encoders that measure angle, the ranging system, or in the geometric relationship between the axes will produce errors in the location determination.

Performance evaluation of laser trackers

Proceedings of the 8th Workshop on Performance Metrics for Intelligent Systems, 2008
The American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) recently released the ASME B89.4.19 Standard [1] on performance evaluation of spherical coordinate instruments such as laser trackers. At the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), we can perform the complete set of tests described in the Standard, and have done so for a variety of ...

The laser tracker

2017 2nd International Conference for Convergence in Technology (I2CT), 2017
The world is advancing with an exponential rate. The models, methods and techniques which were once considered as to be the best and ever replaceable are being replaced every other day. Same kind of scenario is there in the defence and security sector.

A laser-based people tracker

Proceedings 2002 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Cat. No.02CH37292), 2003
Describes a method for real-time tracking of people in everyday environments, using multiple planar laser range-finders. People tracking is a well-studied problem in machine vision; we adapt some of those methods to laser range-finders. We group range measurements into entities such as blobs and objects, and use a Kalman filter to estimate trajectories

Active Tracker Laser (ATLAS)

Advanced Solid State Lasers, 1997
A high brightness diode-pumped, Nd-YAG solid state laser has been designed, fabricated, and tested. This phase conjugated master oscillator/power amplifier (MOPA) device produces 20-ns Q-switched pulses at 2500 Hz at an average power of 690 W and a beam quality of 1.1/spl times/DL when the pump diodes are operated at 27.5% duty cycle.
