Limited herbivore migration during the Last Glacial Period of Kenya
Nature Ecology & EvolutionEastern Africa is home to the largest terrestrial migrations on Earth. Though these migratory systems have been well studied for decades, little is known of their antiquity and evolutionary history. Serially sampled strontium stable isotopes (87Sr/86Sr) from tooth enamel can be used to track migration in mammals.

Permafrost in England during the Last Glacial Period
Nature, 1965PERMAFROST has been shown by many authors to have existed in various parts of England during the last glacial period1,2. Its full extent and distribution have remained somewhat uncertain but can be deduced from the occurrence of certain fossil ground structures.

Interhemispheric anti-phasing of rainfall during the last glacial period
Quaternary Science Reviews, 2006Abstract We have obtained a high-resolution oxygen isotopic record of cave calcite from Caverna Botuvera (27°13′S, 49°09′W), southern Brazil, which covers most of the last 36 thousand years (ka), with an average resolution of a few to several decades. The chronology was determined with 46 U/Th ages from two stalagmites.

Caribbean hydroclimate and vegetation history across the last glacial period
Quaternary Science Reviews, 2019We present a new speleothem trace element and stable isotope record, which extends previous paleoclimate evidence from Cuban speleothems to the last 96 ka. Multiple proxies were used to reconstruct Caribbean hydroclimate and vegetation variability on orbital to millennial timescales.

Mediterranean climates during Dansgaard-Oechger cycles in the last glacial period
2022<p>We investigate the impact of rapid climate changes during the Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles of the last glacial on the climate of the Mediterranean region. We reconstructed the temperature of the coldest and warmest months, growing season warmth, and plant-available moisture (MI) from 20 published pollen cores from Iberia to Iran, using ...

The Magellan region of southern South America is in a unique setting, at >50°S on the equatorial side of the Antarctic Frontal Zone, to record in detail terrestrial glacial to interglacial events. A 10Be chronology shows growth and millennial fluctuations of a Patagonian Ice Sheet between ∼25 and 17.6–17.0 cal ka. In the Strait of Magellan, the maximum

An oscillating Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation during the last glacial period
2023Abrupt climate changes over the last glacial period (~ 115 to 12 thousand years ago) are often associated with reorganisation of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC). It has been suggested that the AMOC can exist in more than one stable mode, but the mechanisms leading to switches between different regimes are still not understood. It

Interstadial records of the last glacial period at Pantai Remis, Malaysia
Journal of Quaternary Science, 1997Two eustatic high sea stands during the last glacial period are recognised at Pantai Remis. These highstands, lower than present-day sea-level, are tropical manifestations of the ameliorating interstadial climate during the Weichselian/Devensian/Wisconsin glaciation in the Northern Hemisphere.
