Arthroscopic Latarjet procedure

Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 2010
Arthroscopy reveals many previously unrecognized soft tissue and bony lesions underlying recurrent anterior shoulder instability. Certain stabilising procedures however fail to adequately address the underlying pathology. The open Latarjet procedure has shown to have excellent and reproducible results in recurrent instability.

Short-Term Complications of the Latarjet Procedure

Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery - Series A, 2012
Although the results of the Latarjet procedure have been reported previously, there is little literature regarding the early complications of this procedure. The purpose of this study was to report our experience with the Latarjet procedure for glenohumeral instability and to highlight the initial complications that may occur following this procedure ...

One-year follow-up of 20 patients undergoing the Latarjet procedure [PDF]

open access: goldBone & Joint Research
Aims The Latarjet procedure is the treatment of choice for patients who have recurrent anterior shoulder instability with glenoid bone loss. However, the stabilizing effect of the Latarjet procedure in patients is sparsely described.

Primary Open Latarjet Procedure Versus Revision to Open Latarjet Procedure for Anterior Shoulder Instability

Orthopedics
Background Although the Latarjet operation may be performed as a revision surgery for anterior shoulder instability, the high recurrence rate of anterior shoulder instability after arthroscopic Bankart repair (ABR) has led some to advocate for performing the Latarjet procedure as a primary stabilization surgery.

Arthroscopic Latarjet Procedure

JBJS Reviews, 2021
» The proposed advantages of the arthroscopic approach in the Latarjet procedure for shoulder dislocation include improved visualization for accurate positioning of the coracoid graft, the ability to address any associated intra-articular pathologies, and the diminished potential for the formation of postoperative scar ...

Classic Versus Congruent-Arc Latarjet Procedures

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2023
Glenohumeral instability remains a frequent pathology, specifically in athletes and active patients. As such, several treatment options have been described. In the setting of significant glenoid bone loss (i.e., >20%), off-track Hill-Sachs lesions, and failed previous soft-tissue-based repairs, glenoid bone-augmentation techniques must be considered ...
