Extending the Search for Counterrotating Gas and Stars in Galaxies: A Study of Late-Type Dwarfs

open access: yes, 2005
In a previous study on gas-stellar counterrotation for a large sample of E/S0 and spiral galaxies (Kannappan & Fabricant 2001), two dwarf irregular galaxies were included, of which one was tentatively identified as a counterrotator. Here we extend the search for counterrotation to include 10 more irregular/spiral dwarf galaxies.

Consumer Adoption of Internet of Things

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, Volume 24, Issue 2, Page 673-693, March 2025.
ABSTRACT The Internet of Things (IoT), a pivotal technology in enhancing user connectivity, faces a paradox: its widespread potential yet limited consumer adoption. This study addresses this dichotomy by synthesizing a large‐scale meta‐analytic structural equation modeling (MASEM) and hierarchical linear meta‐analysis (HiLMA) of 2736 effect sizes from ...

A Novel Survey for Young Substellar Objects with the W-band Filter. VII. Water-bearing Objects in the Core of the ρ Ophiuchi Cloud Complex

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a study of very low mass stars and brown dwarfs in the rich star-forming core of the ρ Ophiuchi cloud complex. The selection of the sample relies on detecting the inherent water absorption characteristic in young substellar objects.

Carbon Dots for Cancer Theranostics: Synthesis Strategies, Luminescence Properties, and Advances in Bioimaging‐Guided Diagnosis and Therapy

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Lighting up the path to precision oncology: This review comprehensively summarizes the rational design of carbon dots (CDs), elucidating how core size, surface chemistry, and heteroatom doping dictate their luminescence mechanisms. Special emphasis is placed on engineering NIR‐II emissive CDs for deep‐tissue imaging.

Insight into the Formation of β Pic b through the Composition of Its Parent Protoplanetary Disk as Revealed by the β Pic Moving Group Member HD 181327

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
It has been suggested that β Pic b has a supersolar metallicity and subsolar C/O ratio. Assuming solar carbon and oxygen abundances for the star β Pic and therefore the planet’s parent protoplanetary disk, β Pic b’s C/O ratio suggests that it formed via ...

Nuclear Entanglement: New Insights Into the Role of Cytoskeleton and Nucleoskeleton in Plant Nuclear Function

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Of the three types of cytoskeleton known in animals—actin, microtubules, and intermediate filaments—only actin and microtubules exist in plants. Both play important roles in cellular shaping, organelle movement, organization of the endomembrane system, and cell signaling.

Tropical Cyclones on Tidally Locked Rocky Planets: Dependence on Rotation Period

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Tropical cyclones occur over the Earth’s tropical oceans, with characteristic genesis regions and tracks tied to the warm ocean surface that provide energy to sustain these storms.

Product‐Related CSR in the Digital Era: Communication Patterns That Drive Consumer Interactions on Social Media

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To meet rising sustainability demands, companies increasingly use social media to communicate product‐related CSR initiatives. Consumers' interactions with these messages largely depend on the messages' perceived credibility. However, there remains limited understanding of how firms combine communication characteristics into distinct patterns ...
