Contribution of magmatism, partial melting buffering and localized crustal thinning on the 1 late-variscan thermal structure of the Agly massif (French Pyrenees)

open access: yes, 2020
Low pressure‐high temperature (LPHT) metamorphism, with geothermal gradients in the order of 50–100°C/km, is a common feature of the late evolution of collisional orogens. These abnormal thermal conditions may be the results of complex interactions between magmatism, metamorphism and deformation.

Zircon U-Pb and Hf isotopic constraints on the genesis of a post-kinematic S-type Variscan tin granite: the Logrosán cupola (Central Iberian Zone) [PDF]

open access: yes
The Variscan orogeny produced widespread granites along the European Variscan belt. In relation to crustal thickening, post-collisional multiple tin-bearing highly fractionated S-type leucogranites were emplaced.

Tracing the Cambro-Ordovician ferrosilicic to calc-alkaline magmatic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
U–Pb geochronological study of zircons from nodular granites and Qtz-diorites comprising part of Variscan high- grade metamorphic complexes in Gredos massif (Spanish Central System batholith) points out the significant presence of Cambro-Ordovician ...
