Simultaneous horst-basin formation and magmatism during Late Variscan transtension: evidence from 40 Ar/ 39 Ar and 207 Pb/ 206 Pb geochronology in the Ruhla Crystalline Complex

International Journal of Earth Sciences, 2000
Ar/39Ar–mica and 207Pb/206Pb–zircon dates are presented and combined with existing P–T data and the sedimentary record. These data indicate that the RCC was faulted into three segments which underwent different exhumation histories during the Late Carboniferous/Early Permian.

Evaluating the controls on the origin of tourmaline-bearing rocks in peraluminous and metaluminous systems: examples from Late-Variscan magmatism of Sardinia (Italy).

2019
In magmatic systems, intensive and compositional parameters are commonly invoked to account for tourmaline saturation in the melt. To model the frequent occurrence of tourmaline-bearing rocks associated with peraluminous intrusions, a large emphasis is typically given to Al2O3 saturation index of magmas (ASI> 1.2).

). Late magmatic controls on the origin of schorlitic and foititic tourmalines from late-Variscan peraluminous granites of the Arbus pluton (SW Sardinia, Italy): Crystal-chemical study and petrological constraints.

2019
Abstract: Tourmalines from the late-Variscan Arbus pluton (SW Sardinia) and its metamorphic aureole were structurally and chemically characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, electron and nuclear microprobe analysis, Mössbauer, infrared and optical absorption spectroscopy, to elucidate their origin and relationships with the magmatic evolution
