Understanding and Exploiting Late Blight Resistance in the Age of Effectors
Potato (Solanum tuberosum) is the world's third-largest food crop. It severely suffers from late blight, a devastating disease caused by Phytophthora infestans. This oomycete pathogen secretes host-translocated RXLR effectors that include avirulence (AVR) proteins, which are targeted by resistance (R) proteins from wild Solanum species.

Ru─Ni nanoclusters are anchored on WC via a rapid microwave quasi‐solid‐state method to build an ordered flexible interfacial hydrogen bond network. This structure boosts water dissociation and enables barrier‐free H/OH transport via the Grotthuss mechanism, forming dual H‐to‐Ru and OH‐to‐Ni spillover pathways to overcome the key challenges of alkaline

Challenges and enablers in fluidization technology
Abstract Gas–solid fluidized beds provide excellent heat and mass transfer for high‐throughput operations from coating to catalytic conversion and underpin emerging low‐carbon technologies. Yet industrial reliability, scale‐up, and control lag scientific understanding, particularly as finer, stickier, and more variable feedstocks increasingly challenge

This study reveals that sampling strategy (i.e., sampling size and approach) is a foundational prerequisite for building accurate and generalizable AI models in peptide discovery. Reaching a threshold of 7.5% of the total tetrapeptide sequence space was essential to ensure reliable predictions.

Relevance. Tomato late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans can cause almost 100% yield loss in open ground in cool and humid conditions. At the same time, the genetic characteristics of P. infestans allow it to overcome the genetic resistance of host

Botanical Control of Late Blight of Potato
Late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) De Bary is one of the most devastating diseases of potato. Although a large number of synthetic fungicides have been recommended to control this organism, most of them have proved to be pollutive, carcinogenic and the pathogen develops resistance quickly.

Changes of late blight attack in conventional fields in the Nordic countries [PDF]
In Finland changes in the incidence and onset of potato late- blight epidemics were investigated and compared to possible changes in climate, presence of soil-borne inoculum, and aggressiveness of the blight population.

We present a novel AI‐integrated implantation‐on‐chip platform that enables mimicking and monitoring the maternal–fetal interactions at the early phases of human embryo implantation with high spatiotemporal resolution. The complexity of the trophoblast invasion process was addressed by conducting the analysis at global (rate of invasion) and local ...
