Ice Induced Sea Level Change in the Late Neogene [PDF]
<p>Two independent records of latest Neogene (2,0 - 6.0 Ma.) glacioeustasy are presented, one of Antarctic ice volume from East Antarctica and the other of eustatic sea level from the South Wanganui Basin, New Zealand. Glacial deposits in the Transantarctic Mountains (Sirius Group) and sediment at the Antarctic continental margin provide direct ...

Carya nux‐taurinensis comb. nov., a fossil‐species incorporating Carya globosa (Juglandaceae)
Abstract The type material of the almost forgotten fossil‐species Juglans nux‐taurinensis is newly analysed, a lectotype is designated, and new conspecific material detected at the Italian type locality La Morra is described. We show that Juglans nux‐taurinensis must be reassigned to Carya because the locule cast of the nutshell shows two inner ...

The Late Miocene Southern and Central Taranaki Inversion Phase (SCTIP) and related sequence stratigraphy and paleogeography [PDF]
We present a new sequence stratigraphic scheme for Taranaki Basin that identifies four 3rd order duration (3 - 4 m.y.) sequences of Middle Miocene to Pleistocene age.

First occurrence of mastixioid (Cornaceae) fossil in India and its biogeographic implications [PDF]
Mastixioids in the family Cornaceae, are presently native only in limited areas of Asia, they have rich fossil fruit record in Cenozoic sediments of Europe and North America, but unfortunately none have been reported from Cenozoic sediments of India and ...

This study provides the first isotopic analysis of Oligocene mammals from Quebrada Fiera, Mendoza, Argentina, filling a major gap in South American paleontology. It reveals a latitudinal gradient in aridity due to the Andean rain shadow and highlights the role of (semi)permanent water bodies in sustaining diverse herbivore communities. Additionally, it

We summarize the current state of knowledge on the age of the Middle Pleistocene ice advances into northern central Europe and provide 25 new single‐grain feldspar luminescence ages of Elsterian and Saalian glacigenic sediments to constrain the age of the ice advances and their tentative correlation with marine isotope stages/substages.

Neogene paleoceanography of the eastern equatorial Pacific based on the radiolarian record of IODP drill sites off Costa Rica [PDF]
The Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) Expedition 344 drilled cores following a transect across the convergent margin off Costa Rica. Two of the five sites (U1381 and U1414) are the subject of the present study.
