Class Enumeration and Parameter Recovery of Growth Mixture Modeling and Second-Order Growth Mixture Modeling in the Presence of Measurement Noninvariance between Latent Classes

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2017
Population heterogeneity in growth trajectories can be detected with growth mixture modeling (GMM). It is common that researchers compute composite scores of repeated measures and use them as multiple indicators of growth factors (baseline performance ...

Application of latent growth modeling to identify different working life trajectories: the case of the Spanish WORKss cohort

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Work, Environment & Health, 2017
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to describe the application of latent class growth analysis (LCGA) to identify different working life trajectories (WLT) using employed working time by year as a repeated measure.

Bayesian Power Equivalence in Latent Growth Curve Models [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, 2019
Longitudinal studies are the gold standard for research on time-dependentphenomena in the social sciences. However, they often entail high costs dueto multiple measurement occasions and a long overall study duration. It istherefore useful to optimize these design factors while maintaining a highinformativeness of the design. Von Oertzen and Brandmaier (

A study on longitudinal relationship between ultrafine dust and the prevalence of depression

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2023
Background Recently, the fine dust problem caused by rapid industrialization and science and technological development has emerged as a severe social issue worldwide. This also increases the interest in its effect on human life. In particular, there is a

Subjective social status and health among older adults in China: the longitudinal mediating role of social trust

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2023
Background From a developmental perspective, this study explored the interplays between subjective social status (SSS), social trust (ST), and health status measured by self-rated health (SRH) among older adults in the context of China.

A Longitudinal Analysis of Social Skills and Adolescent Depression: A Multivariate Latent Growth Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Psychological Research, 2021
Ample research has shown that the link between social skills and adolescent depression is significant. However, how the changes in different domains of social skills influence the change in depression from early to middle adolescence remains largely ...

Group‐based trajectory modeling of body mass index and body size over the life course: A scoping review

open access: yesObesity Science & Practice, 2021
Background Group‐based trajectory modeling has been applied to identify distinct trajectories of growth across the life course. Objectives of this study were to describe the methodological approaches for group‐based modeling of growth across the life ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
