Estimating daytime latent heat flux and evapotranspiration in Jamaica

Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, 2000
The suitability of the two-parameter scheme of De Bruin and Holtslag (1982) to estimate daytime latent heat flux and evapotranspiration in Jamaica was examined using meteorological data collected over fields of short grass. The study covered three different periods, January to February of 1994, January to February of 1990, and August to September of ...

Latent heat and sensible heat flux simulation in maize using artificial neural networks

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2018
Abstract Latent Heat (LE) and Sensible Heat (H) flux are two major components of the energy balance at the earth’s surface, which play important roles in the water cycle and global warming. There are various methods for their estimation or measurement. Eddy covariance is a direct and accurate technique for their measurement.

Diurnal Variation in Surface Latent Heat Flux and the Effect of Diurnal Variability on the Climatological Latent Heat Flux over the Tropical Oceans

Journal of Physical Oceanography, 2021
AbstractDiurnal variation in surface latent heat flux (LHF) and the effects of diurnal variations in LHF-related variables on the climatological LHF are examined using observations from the Global Tropical Moored Buoy Array. The estimated amplitude of the climatological diurnal LHF over the Indo-Pacific warm pool and the equatorial Pacific and Atlantic

Determination of the latent heat flux in fog

Atmospheric Environment (1967), 1986
Abstract The latent heat flux has been determined during a fog situation by using a method based on the surface heat balance equation and a parameterization of the sensible heat flux. The computed values of the latent heat flux show that it is connected with changes in fog density.
