Latent Heat Flux from Small Sheltered Lakes
Boundary-Layer Meteorology, 1998The dependency of the latent heat flux on the over-water fetch on lakes surrounded by tall, dense forest was studied by making use of measurements made on two different-sized lakes. The measurements were made during the NOPEX (Northern Hemisphere Climate-Processes Land Surface Experiment) field campaign.

Latent heat flux variability over the tropical Indian Ocean
International Journal of Climatology, 2023AbstractThe seasonal evolution and interannual variability of latent heat flux (LHF) over the tropical Indian Ocean (TIO) region is examined for the period 1980–2019. The seasonal distribution of LHF is dominated by the winter pattern of each hemisphere in the TIO.

Determination of the latent heat flux in fog
Atmospheric Environment (1967), 1986Abstract The latent heat flux has been determined during a fog situation by using a method based on the surface heat balance equation and a parameterization of the sensible heat flux. The computed values of the latent heat flux show that it is connected with changes in fog density.

Sensible and latent heat flux over natural bog vegetation
1995Abstract Goudriaan's crop model is tested for its ability to describe the energy balance of a natural bog vegetation. Data used to drive the model were collected during the summer of 1994. Model results were compared with field data obtained by means of the eddy correlation technique.

AbstractDiurnal variation in surface latent heat flux (LHF) and the effects of diurnal variations in LHF-related variables on the climatological LHF are examined using observations from the Global Tropical Moored Buoy Array. The estimated amplitude of the climatological diurnal LHF over the Indo-Pacific warm pool and the equatorial Pacific and Atlantic

We incorporate physically based parameterizations of atmospheric meridional heat fluxes into the climate model of Wang et al. (1984) to study their effects on climate changes caused by increases of CO2 abundance and solar constant variations. The physically based parameterizations calculate both the magnitudes and profiles of the sensible and latent ...
