A review of performance enhancement of PCM based latent heat storage system within the context of materials, thermal stability and compatibility [PDF]

open access: yes
Phase change materials (PCM) with their high thermal storage density at almost isothermal conditions and their availability at wide range of phase transitions promote an effective mode of storing thermal energy.

Engineered GM1 Intersects Between Mitochondrial and Synaptic Pathways to Ameliorate ALS Pathology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease driven by genetic and molecular disruptions affecting energy balance, protein homeostasis, and stress responses in nerve cells. Studies using human and rodent models identified convergent defects in mitochondria and synaptic function.

Improving Efficiency of a Solar Water Heater Using PCM [PDF]

open access: yes
One of the best devices which can be used to convert the solar energy into thermal energy is solar water heater (SWH). SWH applications mainly depend on efficient thermal energy storage system (TES).

Systematic Benchmarking of a Noise‐Tolerant Conductive Hydrogel Electrode for Epidermal Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
General schematic of the approach. Abstract Conventional Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) electrodes remain the clinical standard for electrophysiological monitoring but are hindered by poor skin conformity, mechanical rigidity, and signal degradation, particularly under motion or sweat.

Visualizing Strain‐Coupled Cryogenic Phase Transitions and Defect Dynamics in Perovskite Quantum Dots Using In Situ STEM

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cryogenic cooling induces an orthorhombic‐to‐monoclinic phase transition in CsPbBr3 quantum dots, accompanied by pronounced strain localization at surfaces and interfaces. Multimodal in situ STEM directly visualize reversible defect healing during moderate cryogenic treatment and irreversible degradation upon prolonged exposure, revealing the intrinsic

Conversion of Transplanted Mature Hepatocytes into Afp+ Reprogrammed Cells for Liver Regeneration After Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Donor‐derived tdTomato+ mature hepatocytes were FACS‐isolated and transplanted into Fah−/− host mice. During regeneration, these cells convert into proliferative, unipotent Afp+ rHeps. Their plasticity is governed by a PPARγ/AFP‐dependent metabolic switch, segregating into pro‐proliferative Afplow and pro‐survival Afphigh subpopulations.
