Doubly stochastic continuous-time hidden Markov approach for analyzing genome tiling arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Microarrays have been developed that tile the entire nonrepetitive genomes of many different organisms, allowing for the unbiased mapping of active transcription regions or protein binding sites across the entire genome.

Movement Disorders in Aicardi–Goutières Syndrome and Response to Immunomodulation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study characterizes movement disorders and treatment responses in seven children with Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively evaluated motor phenotypes, neuroimaging, and interferon signatures in patients treated with baricitinib or anifrolumab. Spasticity affected all patients, while dystonia was present in 4/7.

Subclinical Optic Nerve Involvement in Radiologically Isolated Syndrome: Multimodal Detection and Diagnostic Impact

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We aimed to determine the frequency of subclinical optic nerve (ON) lesions using MRI, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual evoked potentials (VEP) in radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS), and to assess their diagnostic and prognostic significance.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Deep Learning in Music Recommendation Systems

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, 2019
Like in many other research areas, deep learning (DL) is increasingly adopted in music recommendation systems (MRS). Deep neural networks are used in this domain particularly for extracting latent factors of music items from audio signals or metadata and

Response of moist and dry processes in atmospheric blocking to climate change

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2022
Weather extremes are often associated with atmospheric blocking, but how the underlying physical processes leading to blocking respond to climate change is not yet fully understood.
