A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Engineering Porous Hollow Metal‐Poly(Heptazine Imide) Spheres: An Optimized Synthetic Strategy for Controlling Surface, Morphology, and Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hollow poly(heptazine imide) spheres are prepared through a novel approach that integrates hard templating with ionothermal synthesis. This method enables precise control over surface area, pore volume, hydrophilicity, light absorption, band position, and metal composition. These tunable properties facilitate the customized design of semiconductors for

Bayesian Estimation of Performance Measures of Cervical Cancer Screening Tests in the Presence of Covariates and Absence of a Gold Standard

open access: yesCancer Informatics, 2008
In this paper we develop a Bayesian analysis to estimate the disease prevalence, the sensitivity and specificity of three cervical cancer screening tests (cervical cytology, visual inspection with acetic acid and Hybrid Capture II) in the presence of a ...

A Relationship of Causal Factors in the Economic, Social, and Environmental Aspects Affecting the Implementation of Sustainability Policy in Thailand: Enriching the Path Analysis Based on a GMM Model

open access: yesResources, 2018
This research aimed to analyze the influence of the direct and indirect relationships of economic, social, and environmental factors as well as predict their future effects by applying a path analysis of a generalized method of moments model (path ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Iterative and Recursive Estimation in Structural Non-Adaptive Models [PDF]

open access: yes
An inference method, called latent backfitting is proposed. It appears well suited for econometric models where the structural relationships of interest define the observed endogenous variables as a known function of unobserved state variables and ...

Host‐Directed Biomaterials for Combatting Bloodstream Infections: From Macrocyclic Peptides to Immune‐Activating Cell Backpacks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bloodstream infections (BSI) are one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in both civilian and military populations. This paper summarizes recent progress in novel treatment strategies to manage BSI arising from both bacterial and fungal pathogens using molecules, particles, and materials to elicit host‐directed immunity.
