Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.

De-Biasing Weighted MLE Via Indirect Inference: The Case of Generalized Linear Latent Variable Models

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2007
In this paper we study bias-corrections to the weighted MLE (Dupuis and Morgenthaler, 2002), a robust estimator simply defined through a weighted score function.

Multiple hypothesis testing adjusted for latent variables, with an application to the AGEMAP gene expression data

open access: yes, 2012
In high throughput settings we inspect a great many candidate variables (e.g., genes) searching for associations with a primary variable (e.g., a phenotype). High throughput hypothesis testing can be made difficult by the presence of systemic effects and

ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.

Added Prognostic Value of EEG Reactivity in Comatose Patients Following Cardiac Arrest

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the added prognostic value of EEG reactivity for favorable outcome compared with background analysis during and after targeted temperature management (TTM). Methods Prospective observational cohort study of comatose post–cardiac arrest patients admitted to a single academic center between 2017 and 2022, all undergoing ...

Movement Disorders in Aicardi–Goutières Syndrome and Response to Immunomodulation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study characterizes movement disorders and treatment responses in seven children with Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively evaluated motor phenotypes, neuroimaging, and interferon signatures in patients treated with baricitinib or anifrolumab. Spasticity affected all patients, while dystonia was present in 4/7.

Comparative Effectiveness and Safety of Inebilizumab Versus Rituximab in AQP4‐IgG‐Positive NMOSD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Rituximab (anti‐CD20, RTX) and inebilizumab (anti‐CD19, INE) represent B‐cell‐depleting therapies used for aquaporin‐4 antibody‐positive (AQP4‐IgG+) neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD); however, direct comparative evidence remains limited.

Measurement invariance within and between subjects: A distinct problem in testing the equivalence of intra- and inter-individual model structures.

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2014
We address the question of equivalence between modeling results obtained on intra-individual and inter-individual levels of psychometric analysis. Our focus is on the concept of measurement invariance and the role it may play in this context.
