Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON LATERAL FORCE-RESISTING MECHANISM OF CONCRETE BLOCK INFILLED R/C FRAMES BASED ON FORCE MEASUREMENTS

open access: yesJournal of Structural and Construction Engineering (Transactions of AIJ), 2009
This paper describes an experimental investigation on the lateral force-resisting mechanism of concrete block infilled R/C frames through measuring internal forces. A series of structural tests was conducted using several types of specimens: one bare and two infilled specimens.

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Independent perceptual process of microscopic texture and surface shapes through lateral resistive force cues

open access: yesCoRR
Macroscopic surface shapes, such as bumps and dents, as well as microscopic surface features, like texture, can be identified solely through lateral resistive force cues when a stylus moves across them. This perceptual phenomenon has been utilized to advance tactile presentation techniques for surface tactile displays.

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Independent large scale duplications in multiple M. tuberculosis lineages overlapping the same genomic region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of most human tuberculosis, infects one third of the world's population and kills an estimated 1.7 million people a year. With the world-wide emergence of drug resistance, and the finding of more functional

The Force-Vector Theory Supports Use of the Laterally Resisted Split Squat to Enhance Change of Direction

open access: yesJournal of Strength & Conditioning Research
Abstract Cooley, C, Simonson, SR, and Maddy, DA. The force-vector theory supports use of the laterally resisted split squat to enhance change of direction. J Strength Cond Res 38(5): 835–841, 2024—The purpose of this study was to challenge the conventional change of direction (COD) training methods of the modern-day strength and conditioning ...

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...
