Sustainable and Multifunctional Natural Macromolecular Polymers for Aqueous Zn Metal Batteries
We comprehensively review the structure‐function relationships and regulatory mechanism of natural macromolecular polymers in stabilizing zinc anodes at the microscopic and mesoscopic scales. The interactions among polymer structures, optimization strategies, and regulatory mechanisms are discussed systematically summarizing recent related research ...

Direct Growth of 2D Bilayers on Au(111) for Low‐Coercive Sliding Ferroelectricity
Controlled CVD growth of stacking‐defined bilayer ReS2 on Au(111) enables parallel‐stacked bilayers with intrinsic sliding ferroelectricity, a strong piezoelectric response, and an ultralow coercive voltage. Atomic‐resolution imaging and in situ measurements further reveal the decisive role of clean interfaces in achieving low‐barrier ferroelectric ...

Flax Composites With Improved Interfacial Strength Through Microbially Induced Mineral Precipitation
A bio‐inspired biomineralization strategy introduces an additional hierarchy to flax fiber composites. By controlling microbe‐mediated mineral particle deposition through tuned salt concentrations, stress transfer within the natural fiber composite is enhanced.

Implications of Lateral Coupler Forces for Rail Vehicle Curving Resistance
Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics, 2021Abstract Curving resistance is an important topic that requires a lot more research. This paper studied the implications of lateral coupler forces for curving resistance. More than 1800 simulations were conducted using a three-piece bogie wagon model developed in the simpack software package.

Use of Garage Doors to Resist Lateral Forces
Improving the Seismic Performance of Existing Buildings and Other Structures, 2009Existing wood-panel, sectional, overhead garage doors have been shown in preliminary proof-of-concept testing to be effective as load transfer and energy dissipation elements in soft-story, wood-framed buildings. Such doors performed surprisingly well and, with further development of uplift restraint devices and additional testing, may be recommended ...

Architectural Precast Panel Systems Used For Lateral Force Resistance
Structures Congress 2009, 2009Precast exterior wall panels in multi-story buildings are typically supported by the building structure and serve the purpose of building enclosure and aesthetics. Precast, however, is a strong and stiff material and can also provide structural strength and stiffness to a building.
