Design Calculation for Concrete-Filled Steel Tube under Soft Lateral Impact
In recent decades, the rapid development of transportation construction has increased the possibility of concrete-filled steel tubes (CFSTs) subjected to soft lateral impact. Some kinds of deviation may still exist between the soft impact process and its

Numerical simulation on residual axial compression bearing capacity of square in square CFDST columns after lateral impact [PDF]
Square in square concrete-filled double-skin steel tube (CFDST) columns are widely preferred on account of their convenient nodal structural form and efficient construction process.

The importance of freeze–thaw cycles for lateral tracer transport in ice-wedge polygons [PDF]
A significant portion of the Arctic coastal plain is classified as polygonal tundra and plays a vital role in soil carbon cycling. Recent research suggests that lateral transport of dissolved carbon could exceed vertical carbon releases to the atmosphere.

The lateral impaction of the shoulder [PDF]
17 patients had radiographic demonstration of injury to the clavicle, scapula and ribs from an impact delivered to the lateral shoulder. The study included 13 males and 4 females whose ages ranged from 18 to 83 years (average 45 years). Most injuries were sustained in falls or motor vehicle accidents.
