Variably Protease‐Sensitive Prionopathy: Two New Cases With Motor Neuron‐Dementia Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe two patients with variably protease‐sensitive prionopathy (VPSPr) who developed progressive upper motor neuron symptoms, insomnia, behavioral and cognitive decline, compatible with primary lateral sclerosis associated with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

Assessing Lateral Interaction in the Synesthetic Visual Brain

open access: yesVision, 2019
In grapheme-color synesthesia, letters and numbers evoke abnormal colored perceptions. Although the underlying mechanisms are not known, it is largely thought that the synesthetic brain is characterized by atypical connectivity throughout various brain ...

Development and simulations of Enhanced Lateral Drift Sensors

open access: yes, 2019
We present the concept of a new type of silicon tracking sensor called Enhanced Lateral Drift (ELAD) sensor. In ELAD sensors the spatial resolution of the impact position of ionising particles is improved by a dedicated charge sharing mechanism, which is

Patterns of Postictal Abnormalities in Relation to Status Epilepticus in Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Abnormalities on peri‐ictal diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI‐PMAs) are well‐established for patients with status epilepticus (SE), but knowledge on patterns of DWI‐PMAs and their prognostic impact is sparse. Methods This systematic review and individual participant data meta‐analysis included observational studies ...

Development of the lateral displacement crushable stopper, a part of bogie for countermeasures against derailment in case of earthquake and influence of repeated loading during usual run on moving load

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2017
It is known that the center pin of a car body strikes strongly against the lateral displacement stopper of the bogie when the vehicle vibrates widely in the case of earthquake motion with a predominant frequency of over 1.4 Hz.

Spinal Cord Infarction Versus Idiopathic Transverse Myelitis: Clinical, Radiological, and Functional Insights From a Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is a rare but devastating myelopathy, characterized by a high disability rate and an unfavorable prognosis. It has often been underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed as idiopathic transverse myelitis (ITM). This study aimed to describe the clinical features, radiological biomarkers, treatments, and functional ...

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.
