Impact of lateral occlusion schemes: A systematic review
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2015Although several lateral occlusion philosophies have been proposed in the literature, there is a lack of compelling evidence supporting any scheme. The purpose of this systematic review was to investigate the clinical implications of different lateral occlusion schemes.A literature search was completed through PubMed (MEDLINE), Google Scholar, and ...

Modeling Single Piles under Lateral Impact
2014In this paper the behavior of single piles under lateral impact is investigated by using the performed pendulum and bogie tests. Three types of soil deposits were used in the experimental tests including hard clay, loose sand and crushed limestone. The acceleration and displacement of the striking mass are measured.

Human Shoulder Response to High Velocity Lateral Impact
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2017The armies of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization need a shoulder injury criterion for the EuroSID-2re dummy that must be reliable over a large range of loading conditions, from high velocity, short duration impacts (28 m/s - 3 ms) to low velocity long, duration impacts (4 m/s - 50 ms).

Response Corridors of Human Surrogates in Lateral Impacts
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2002Thirty-six lateral PMHS sled tests were performed at 6.7 or 8.9 m/s, under rigid or padded loading conditions and with a variety of impact surface geometries. Forces between the simulated vehicle environment and the thorax, abdomen, and pelvis, as well as torso deflections and various accelerations were measured and scaled to the average male. Mean +/-

Chest Deflections and Injuries in Oblique Lateral Impacts
Traffic Injury Prevention, 2008A majority of laboratory-driven side-impact injury assessments are conducted using postmortem human subjects (PMHS) under the pure lateral mode. Because real-world injuries occur under pure and oblique modes, this study was designed to determine chest deflections and injuries using PMHS under the latter mode.

Force and Acceleration Corridors from Lateral Head Impact
Traffic Injury Prevention, 2004This study was conducted to provide force and acceleration corridors at different velocities describing the dynamic biomechanics of the lateral region of the human head. Temporo-parietal impact tests were conducted using specimens from ten unembalmed post-mortem human subjects.
