The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Experimental and numerical analysis of the cyclic behaviour of RC beam-column connections with plain reinforcing bars [PDF]
The information available in the literature about the cyclic behaviour of reinforced concrete elements with plain reinforcing bars is scarce. As a consequence, the influence of bar slippage in elements with plain bars is not yet comprehensively ...

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Load-displacement curves from about 200 short-term and laterally loaded nail-plate joints are analysed. The nail-plates are from Gang-Nail Systems, type GNA 20 S. The test specimens and the measuring systems are described. The tests are divided into 32 different series.

Steel framed structures are routinely infilled with masonry or concrete walls. The infill offers in-plane shear re- sistance that adds to the one from the steel frame. However, the stiffness effect on the entire frame's response is usually neglected.

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Earthquake make a lateral force on the building. Lateral forces in tall building that exerted in the column is big enough, so need a rigid elements structure such as shear walls to reduce the lateral force.

Young's and shear moduli and Poisson's ratio for elastic media of high and middle symmetry
Using bases of fourth rank tensorial bases of complete Voigt's symmetry elaborated by Walpole we obtained expressions for inverse of Young's modulus E, inverse of shear modulus G and Poisson's ratio, which depend on components of the stiffness tensor S ...

Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.
