Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Pile Apparent Fixity Length Estimation for the Jacket-type Offshore Wind Turbines under Lateral Loads Applicable to Fatigue Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, 2020
Modelling the soil-pile interaction using the Finite Element Method (FEM) might be a time-consuming process and required entirely specific soil properties. Moreover, most of the codes that have been developed for offshore wind turbines use one or more of

Fluorination: A strategy to tune the interactions of molecules and nanoscale systems with biological matter

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This minireview explores fluorination as a key strategy to optimize therapeutic molecules and nanocarriers. By incorporating different fluorinated motifs—from single atoms to linear and branched chains—drug delivery, cellular uptake, and colloidal stability can be improved and fine‐tuned.

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

An innovative experimental device for characterizing the responses of monopiles subjected to complex lateral loading [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Offshore wind turbines are usually founded on monopiles. During the operation period, the structure is subjected to complex lateral loading from wind, wave and current.

Experimental and Theoretical Study of One-Way Cyclic Lateral Responses of Piles in Sloping Ground

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This study aims to investigate the one-way cyclic lateral responses of piles in sloping ground by means of experimental and theoretical analyses. For this purpose, a series of laboratory model experiments were performed for different cases of cycle ...

Association Between Motor Pathway Damage and Motor Deficit in Upper and Lower Limb in People With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Corticospinal tract damage is common in people with MS, but the degree of clinical symptoms varies. We hypothesize that corticospinal tract lesions are more extensive and severe in people with MS with motor impairments in both upper and lower limbs.

Effect of scour on piles supporting marine structures

open access: yesInternational Maritime Transport and Logistic Journal, 2018
Piles supporting marine structures are subjected to lateral loads due to berthing, mooring forces, waves and current forces. Scour around piles can have significant impact on the lateral loading capacity and hence affect the stability of marine ...
