Adsorption of carbofuran on lateritic soils

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 1998
Adsorption of carbofuran on the four selected lateritic soils is studied using batch experiments. Accordingly, the key influencing factors of carbofuran adsorption are determined. The adsorption isotherms on the lateritic soils correspond well with the Freundlich isotherm.

Intrinsic compressibility of laterites and lateritic soils

Canadian Geotechnical Journal
Laterites and lateritic soils, prevalent in tropical and subtropical climates, have growing applications in earthwork construction. They usually present unique compression properties compared to conventional clays. Therefore, a thorough understanding of their intrinsic compressibility is crucial.

Recent Laterites and Lateritic Soils

Soviet Geography, 1961
AbstractThe author notes that the large literature on laterites and lateritic soils is concerned mainly with regional description and the physical-chemical processes of soil formation. No attempt is made to analyze the geographical-genetic conditions under which such soils are formed.

LATERITES AND LATERITIC SOILS IN SOUTH‐WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Journal of Soil Science, 1960
Summary A short general account of the distribution and characteristics of the laterites of south‐western Australia is given in relation to past and present climates and to climatically controlled processes of landscape development.

LATERITE AND LATERITIC SOIL IN COASTAL NATAL, SOUTH AFRICA

Journal of Soil Science, 1965
Summary A description is given of the distribution and characteristics of a vesicular laterite associated with the Early Cainozoic erosion surface in coastal Natal, together with the chemical and mineralogical characteristics of the soil formed by its decomposition.

Collapse behaviour of a lateritic soil

Geomechanics and Geoengineering, 2015
Collapsible soils are problematic by nature. They undergo collapse or sudden settlement or subsidence under a given stress when their water content is increased. Collapse is characterised by collapse potential expressed as ΔH/H x 100, where ΔH is collapse compression. The amount of stress applied and the water content at the time of collapse govern the

Laterite Soils and Their Engineering Characteristics

Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1957
Laterite soils are tropical deposits occurring generally as residual surface deposits; review of existing literature concerning origin, distribution and physical properties of soils and evaluation from civil engineering point of view; information presented is of importance for preliminary planning and design of engineering structures in laterite soil ...

Microstructural investigation on laterite soils

Bulletin of the International Association of Engineering Geology, 1989
Considerable researches have been carried out to demonstrate the importante of microstructure in the interpretation of engineering behaviour of soils. Instances where the investigations are on laterite soils are however scanty in literature.
