GEOTECHNICAL PROPERTIES OF LATERITIC SOIL STABILIZED WITH THE ASHES OF OIL PALM FRONDS [PDF]
This study assesses the geotechnical properties of lateritic soil stabilized with the ashes of oil palm fronds. These properties are then compared with those of the same soil stabilized with cement to determine how well the ashes perform since cement is ...

Gamma Rays Signal the Vulnerability of Forest to Extreme Drought
Abstract Extreme drought and heat are driving forest die‐off globally, yet regional‐scale mapping of subsurface water storage capacity, governing forest vulnerability, remains a major challenge. Here, we demonstrate that airborne gamma‐ray spectrometry (GRS) of potassium (40K) decay provides a powerful proxy for subsurface constraints on water ...

Abstract An audiomagnetotelluric (AMT) survey was conducted within the Alto Paranaíba Igneous Province, southeastern Brazil, to delineate shallow occurrences of kamafugite, a rare ultrapotassic volcanic rock worldwide. A dense grid of AMT stations was deployed, allowing the construction of a high‐resolution 3D electrical resistivity model ...

The efficacy of combined chemical treatments is clearly shown in this study to greatly improve the structural strength, bonding, and durability of coffee husk‐reinforced laterite blocks. The combined NaOH and silane treatment is the most effective method of improving the strength and water resistance of earthen construction materials.
