Discrepant toxoplasma latex agglutination test results. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Pathology, 1989
The analysis of 4450 toxoplasma serology results showed that 59 (1.3%) latex agglutination reactions were not confirmed in the dye test. These discrepant results were associated with an unspecified IgM antibody but not associated with kit batch variation, inactivation of sera, concurrent cytomegalovirus infection, or the presence of hepatitis B virus ...

High‐Throughput Glucose Biosensing Using Jack Bean [Canavalia ensiformis (L.) DC.] Lectin as Electrochemical Signaling Element

open access: yesElectroanalysis, Volume 38, Issue 4, April 2026.
An electrochemical biosensor employing Canavalia ensiformis lectin immobilized on a Prussian Blue‐modified glassy carbon electrode was developed for label‐free glucose detection at submicromolar levels. The integration of lectin biorecognition with the conductive Prussian Blue layer ensured stable and selective signal transduction.

Safety of anagliptin/metformin combination tablets evaluated by non‐inferiority between pre‐ and post‐serum lactic acid levels in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes and moderate renal impairment (AMELIO STUDY)

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 636-648, April 2026.
To investigate the safety of anagliptin/metformin combination tablets in Japanese patients of type 2 diabetes with moderate renal impairment. This study demonstrates that the fixed‐dose combination of anagliptin and metformin can be used safely in patients with type 2 diabetes complicated by moderate renal dysfunction.

Potential for Natural Antimicrobials, Including Mushroom Chitosan, to Control Shiga‐Toxigenic Escherichia coli in Ground Beef

open access: yesJournal of Food Safety, Volume 46, Issue 2, April 2026.
This study evaluated the antimicrobial activity of 11 natural agents against eight STEC serotypes by determining their MIC and MBC at different pH and temperature conditions. Five agents demonstrating the strongest inhibitory activity in vitro were then tested at various concentrations in beef burgers inoculated with Escherichia coli O157 and stored ...
