The use of nonviable postbiotic bacteria, such as Lactococcus lactis CNCM I‐5388, delivering GABA via their GAD enzymatic activity, is a new strategy for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders diagnosed in children and adults. These health benefits must be considered complementary to those of GABA‐producing psychobiotics.
