Random Latin squares and Sudoku designs generation

open access: yes, 2013
Uniform random generation of Latin squares is a classical problem. In this paper we prove that both Latin squares and Sudoku designs are maximum cliques of properly defined graphs. We have developed a simple algorithm for uniform random sampling of Latin

Stochastic optimization of Power‐to‐Methanol: Production cost sensitivity to process design vs. scheduling

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Under time‐varying electricity prices, the production costs of Power‐to‐X processes with intermediate storage can be reduced by simultaneously optimizing the process unit design and size with their scheduling and operation. However, the production cost sensitivity to optimal process design or scheduling is unclear, especially when several ...

Machine Learning‐Assisted Infectious Disease Detection in Low‐Income Areas: Toward Rapid Triage of Dengue and Zika Virus Using Open‐Source Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study introduces an affordable machine learning platform for simultaneous dengue and zika detection using fluorine‐doped tin oxide thin films modified with gold nanoparticles and DNA aptamers. Designed for low‐cost, hardware‐limited devices (< $25), the model achieves 95.3% accuracy and uses only 9.4 kB of RAM, demonstrating viability for resource‐

Toward Knowledge‐Guided AI for Inverse Design in Manufacturing: A Perspective on Domain, Physics, and Human–AI Synergy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights how knowledge‐guided artificial intelligence can address key challenges in manufacturing inverse design, including high‐dimensional search spaces, limited data, and process constraints. It focused on three complementary pillars—expert‐guided problem definition, physics‐informed machine learning, and large language model ...

Echoes of Hylas and the Poetics of Allusion in Propertius [PDF]

open access: yesParole Rubate, 2012
For Propertius the myth of Hylas exemplifies a poetics of selective appropriation and transformation by means of echoes and allusions. He brings it into his poetry as an exemplum, both erotic and metapoetic, and offers evidence that his penchant for ...
