Inverting x,y grid coordinates to obtain latitude and longitude in the vanderGrinten projection [PDF]

open access: yes
The latitude and longitude of a point on the Earth's surface are found from its x,y grid coordinates in the vanderGrinten projection. The latitude is a solution of a cubic equation and the longitude a solution of a quadratic equation.

Brazilian Biomes as Promising Resources of Rhodotorula Yeasts for the Biotechnological Production of Carotenoids

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Yeasts belonging to the genus Rhodotorula are capable of synthesizing carotenoids, such as β‐carotene, γ‐carotene, torulene, torularodine, and astaxanthin. These carotenoids have been shown to offer health benefits to humans, such as immune system strengthening and a reduced risk of chronic degenerative diseases.

Exploring Chemical Variability in the Essential Oil of Artemisia absinthium L. in Relation to Different Phenological Stages and Geographical Location

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The plant essential oils (EOs) play a fundamental role in the adaptation to different habitats and environmental conditions. To verify the influence of these factors on the EO of Artemisia absinthium L., we conducted a pharmacognostic study on this species, collected during both the vegetative (V) and flowering (F) stages, in two different ...

Ultraviolet Ozone Pretreatment Enhances Selective PETase Biodegradation of Textiles Compared to Sunlight and Alkali Treatments

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
This research examines polyethylene terephthalate (PET)/cotton textiles biodegradation, using different stressors as enzymatic incubation. It reveals that aggressive chemical treatments (alkali conditions) cause nonspecific degradation, affecting both PET and cotton fibers.

Subordinate Felt Trust and Task Performance: A Two‐Study Test of the Self‐Determination Enhancement Pathway

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Administrative Sciences / Revue Canadienne des Sciences de l'Administration, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Research suggests employees are more productive when they feel their supervisor trusts them. However, the underlying processes that explain this relation are not well understood. We investigated whether self‐determination (a motivational construct) mediates the relation between felt trust and task performance.

In Vitro and In Vivo Photothermal and Photoacoustic Activities of Polymeric Nanoparticles Loaded with Nickel, Palladium, and Platinum‐Bis(dithiolene) Complexes

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 20, Issue 12, June 17, 2025.
Molecular metal‐bis(dithiolene) photothermal agents are efficiently incorporated into water‐dispersible nanoparticles (NPs) constituted by a biocompatible polymer derived from poly(malic acid). The photoacoustic activity of these NPs is evaluated, and their photothermal properties under near‐infrared irradiation are used for photothermal therapy of ...

From Tweets to Insights: Social Opinion Mining on Corporate Social Responsibility

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become increasingly critical as firms seek to balance financial goals with social and environmental responsibilities. Our study introduces a three‐phase structured method to analyze stakeholders' opinions on CSR through Social Opinion Mining, utilizing stakeholder and legitimacy theories.
