open access: yesActa Scientiarum. Agronomy, 2008
The aim of this work was to study the distribution of non-exchangeable forms of potassium in different size fractions of an Oxisol, cultivated with banana for two years in plots with and without irrigation (main plot) and varying potassium levels (0, 300, 600 and 900 kg ha-1 of K2O) (sub-plots), in a randomized split-plot block design.

Tensile Strength: A Pedologist's Perspective on Variability in Cohesive and Non‐Cohesive Horizons From Brazil's Coastal Tablelands

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, Volume 189, Issue 1, Page 36-48, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Previous research has underscored the importance of evaluating soil consistency for accurate determination of cohesive character and mechanical properties. Although qualitative assessments by pedologists are pertinent, they exhibit inherent subjectivity that may compromise accuracy.

Dissipation of DvSnf7 Double‐Stranded RNA in Brazilian Soils

open access: yesAgricultural &Environmental Letters, Volume 4, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
Core Ideas Approval of biotech crops in Brazil requires an exposure assessment. Double‐stranded RNA produced by maize MON 87411 is unlikely to persist in tropical soil. Soil dissipation results with dsRNA can be generalized across diverse geographies.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities and soil aggregation as affected by cultivation of various crops during the sugarcane fallow period

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2014
Management systems involving crop rotation, ground cover species and reduced soil tillage can improve the soil physical and biological properties and reduce degradation.

ATRIBUTOS QUÍMICOS DE LATOSSOLO VERMELHO SUBMETIDO A DIFERENTES MANEJOS

open access: yesFLORESTA, 2015

Complementary geophysical, geomorphometric and pedological approaches for characterizing shallow and deep subsurface materials in a colluvial‐alluvial plain in Atlantic rainforest

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 50, Issue 15, December 2025.
This study combines GPR, 2D ERT and UAV‐derived terrain models to characterize sediment variability in a colluvial‐alluvial plain. GPR identified sandy lenses and clay‐rich layers, while ERT revealed deeper conductive and resistive zones, including a gneissic basement.

Soil Carbon Dynamics in Soybean Cropland and Forests in Mato Grosso, Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 123, Issue 1, Page 18-31, January 2018., 2018
Abstract Climate and land use models predict that tropical deforestation and conversion to cropland will produce a large flux of soil carbon (C) to the atmosphere from accelerated decomposition of soil organic matter (SOM). However, the C flux from the deep tropical soils on which most intensive crop agriculture is now expanding remains poorly ...
