Current Advances in i‐MAX Phases and their Two Dimensional Derivative i‐MXenes: Challenges and Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
The discovery of quaternary (M′2/3M′′1/3)2AX phases has introduced newly ordered i‐MAX phases in the MAX phase community. These atomically layered solids display in‐plane chemical ordering of M′ and M′′, featuring a frustrated triangular lattice overlaid

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Entanglement Properties of Gauge Theories from Higher-Form Symmetries

open access: yesPhysical Review X
We explore the relationship between higher-form symmetries and entanglement properties in lattice gauge theories with discrete gauge groups, which can exhibit both topologically ordered phases and higher-form symmetry-protected topological (SPT) phases ...

Complemented lattice-ordered groups

open access: yesIndagationes Mathematicae, 1990
A lattice-ordered group \(G\) is complemented if for each \(x\in G\) there is a \(y\in G\) so that \(| x|\wedge| y|=0\) and \(| x|\vee| y|\) is a unit; \(\text{Spec}(G)\) and \(\text{Min}(G)\) denote the spaces of all minimal, resp. all prime convex \(l\)-subgroups of \(G\) with some natural topology.

Characteristic subgroups of lattice-ordered groups [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1971
Characteristic subgroups of anll-group are those convexll-subgroups that are fixed by eachll-automorphism. Certain sublattices of the lattice of all convexll-subgroups determine characteristic subgroups which we call socles. Various socles of anll-group are constructed and this construction leads to some structure theorems.

Unlocking Ultra‐Long Cycle Stability of Li Metal Electrode by Separators Modified by Porous Red Phosphorus Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Coating the standard polypropylene separator with a porous red phosphorous nanosheet greatly improves cycling performance in Li electrode cells. The phosphorus‐based surface chemistry deactivates electrolyte solvent decomposition and enhances the cleavage of F‐containing salt, resulting in an inorganic‐dominated electrolyte interphase (SEI) composition

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.
