It is proved that if a lattice ordered abelian group H is an internal direct product of its subgroups A, B, and G is a retract of H, then there exists a retract \(R_ 1\) of A and a retract \(R_ 2\) of B such that G is isomorphic to the direct product of \(R_ 1\) and \(R_ 2\)
