The Lattice Boltzmann equation for modelling arterial flows : review and application

open access: yes, 2003
The lattice Boltzmann model (LBM) is a relatively new development in computational fluid dynamics. Here we review the technique with particular emphasis on its application to biological systems.

Rationally Designed Bilayer Passivation Strategy for High‐Performance Vacuum‐Processed Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bilayer “Anchor‐and‐Seal” passivation strategy using EDAI2 and 4MeO‐PEAI effectively mitigates surface defects in vacuum‐processed perovskite films through synergistic hydrogen bonding and Lewis base coordination. This approach optimizes interfacial energy alignment and suppresses non‐radiative recombination, enabling vacuum‐deposited p‐i‐n ...

Application of the hybrid-type method of Brownian dynamics and lattice Boltzmann to magnetic particle suspensions

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2015
We have investigated the feasibility of the hybrid-type method of lattice Boltzmann and Brownian dynamics as a simulation technique for a magnetic particle suspension.

Exciton Binding Energy of Phosphorescent Emitter Molecules in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Energy level alignment is key to efficient OLED design, yet determining LUMO energies remains challenging. A methodology based on field‐induced dissociation and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is presented to extract LUMO energies of iridium‐based phosphorescent emitters from their exciton binding energy.

Self‐Adaptive Anhydrous Passivation Mitigates Open‐Circuit Voltage Loss in Pb‐Sn Mixed Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this report, a self‐adaptive anhydrous passivation strategy is introduced by incorporating trimellitic anhydride (TMAH) into the perovskite precursor. In situ hydrolysis of TMAH yields trimellitic acid (TMA); ‐C═O/‐COO− groups of TMAH/TMA form a chelate with undercoordinated Pb2+/Sn2+, regulate nucleation, promote (100) orientation, passivate ...

Recursive regularization step for high-order lattice Boltzmann methods. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2017
A lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) with enhanced stability and accuracy is presented for various Hermite tensor-based lattice structures. The collision operator relies on a regularization step, which is here improved through a recursive computation of ...

Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.

Structural stability of Lattice Boltzmann schemes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2016
The goal of this work is to determine classes of traveling solitary wave solutions for Lattice Boltzmann schemes by means of an hyperbolic ansatz. It is shown that spurious solitary waves can occur in finite-difference solutions of nonlinear wave equation.

General propagation lattice Boltzmann model for a variable-coefficient compound KdV-Burgers equation

open access: yesApplied Mathematical Modelling, 2019
In this paper, a general propagation lattice Boltzmann model for a variable-coefficient compound Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers (vc-cKdVB) equation is investigated through selecting equilibrium distribution function and adding a compensation function, which ...
