Application of lattice Boltzmann method to solution of viscous incompressible fluid dynamics problems

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики
The possibilities of simulation of viscous incompressible fluid flows with lattice Boltzmann method are considered. Unlike the traditional discretization approach based on the use of Navier–Stokes equations, the lattice Boltzmann method uses a mesoscopic

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

2D Nanomaterials Toward Function‐Ready Superlubricity in Advanced Microsystems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A unified framework links structural and transformation superlubricity with microsystem functions and deployment requirements. Mechanisms, device architectures, integration strategies, AI‐guided discovery, and benchmarking protocols are connected to define function‐ready superlubricity in advanced microsystems.

Effects of nanoparticles on melting process with phase-change using the lattice Boltzmann method

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
In this work, the problem of nanoparticles dispersion effects on coupled heat transfer and solid-liquid phase change has been studied. The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) enthalpy-based is employed.

Freeform Fabrication of Layered Halide Perovskite Nanowire Heterojunctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
‘All‐at‐once’ freeform fabrication of layered perovskite nanowire heterojunctions is realized by 3D printing employing meniscus‐guided crystallization. The integration of nanoscale additive manufacturing with layered halide perovskites will provide a versatile platform to freely design and realize highly stable perovskite‐based optoelectronic ...

Stability analysis of the vectorial Lattice-Boltzmann method [PDF]

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys
We perform a stability analysis of the Vectorial Lattice-Boltzmann Method (VLBM). The VLBM has been introduced in [1–3, 9, 18]. It is a variant of the LBM with extended stability features: it allows handling compressible flows with shock waves, while the

Correlated Charge Transport in an Organic Coulomb Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advances in the development of organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs), electrically gated organic semiconductors (EGOFETs), and organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) allow for the operation of these devices at very high charge‐carrier densities, where Coulomb interactions between carriers can be expected to become significant.

Energy-Efficient Implementation of the Lattice Boltzmann Method

open access: yesEnergies
Energy costs are now one of the leading criteria when procuring new computing hardware. Until recently, developers and users focused only on pure performance in terms of time-to-solution.

When Poor Exciton Dissociation Limits Photocurrents in Organic Solar Cells: Why Low Offset Non‐Fullerene Acceptor Blends Can't Be Efficient

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The energetic offset between the donor and the acceptor components in organic photoactive layers is central to the tradeoff between photovoltage and photocurrent losses. This Perspective covers the most important issues surrounding this topic in non‐fullerene acceptor blends, from the difficulty of accurately determining state energies and driving ...

Laser‐Assisted Phase Engineering of 2D MoS2 for Efficient Solution‐Processed Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Here, local laser‐assisted phase transition from solution‐processed phase‐pure 1T′ to 2H MoS2 is shown to critically depend on the irradiation atmosphere. While processing in air leads to damaged insulating regions, inert conditions yield semiconducting 2H domains, enabling direct field‐effect transistor patterning with optimized lateral 1T′‐2H MoS2 ...
