Asymptotic analysis of multiple-relaxation-time lattice Boltzmann schemes for mixture modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A new lattice Boltzmann model for simulating ideal mixtures has been developed by means of the multiple-relaxation-time (MRT) approach. When compared with the previous single-relaxation-time (SRT) formulation of the same model, based on the continuous ...

Study on lattice Boltzmann method/large eddy simulation and its application at high Reynolds number flow

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
Lattice Boltzmann method combined with large eddy simulation is developed in the article to simulate fluid flow at high Reynolds numbers. A subgrid model is used as a large eddy simulation model in the numerical simulation for high Reynolds flow.

Volumetric Lattice Boltzmann Models in General Curvilinear Coordinates: Theoretical Formulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, 2021
A theoretical formulation of lattice Boltzmann models on a general curvilinear coordinate system is presented. It is based on a volumetric representation so that mass and momentum are exactly conserved as in the conventional lattice Boltzmann on a ...

Axisymmetric multiphase lattice Boltzmann method [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2013
A lattice Boltzmann method for axisymmetric multiphase flows is presented and validated. The method is capable of accurately modeling flows with variable density. We develop the classic Shan-Chen multiphase model [ Phys. Rev. E 47 1815 (1993)] for axisymmetric flows. The model can be used to efficiently simulate single and multiphase flows.

Numerical Study of Stainless Steel Pitting Process Based on the Lattice Boltzmann Method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2019
The application of computers to numerical calculations has become an important means of studying corrosion problems, and in this work, the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) was used to numerically simulate the pitting corrosion of stainless steel. The multi-

Application of Regularized Lattice Boltzmann Method for Incompressible Flow Simulation at High Reynolds Number and Flow with Curved Boundary

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2011
Single-relaxation time lattice Boltzmann method lacks the required numerical stability for high Reynolds number flow simulations. The method is also restricted to Cartesian grid, making it difficult to be implemented in flow with curved boundary ...

Taichi-LBM3D: A Single-Phase and Multiphase Lattice Boltzmann Solver on Cross-Platform Multicore CPU/GPUs

open access: yesFluids, 2022
The success of the lattice Boltzmann method requires efficient parallel programming and computing power. Here, we present a new lattice Boltzmann solver implemented in Taichi programming language, named Taichi-LBM3D.

Analytical solution of axi-symmetrical lattice Boltzmann model for cylindrical Couette flows

open access: yes, 2012
Analytical solution for the axi-symmetrical lattice Boltzmann model is obtained for the low-Mach number cylindrical Couette flows. In the hydrodynamic limit, the present solution is in excellent agreement with the result of the Navier-Stokes equation ...
