The regularized class of lattice Boltzmann methods (LBMs) leverage the potency of the standard lattice-Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook method by filtering out spurious nonhydrodynamic moments from the moment space; this is achieved through evaluating regularized populations via a multiscale or a Hermite polynomial expansion approach. In this paper, we propose an

Lattices for the lattice Boltzmann method
Physical Review E, 2009A recently introduced theory of higher-order lattice Boltzmann models [Chikatamarla and Karlin, Phys. Rev. Lett. 97, 190601 (2006)] is elaborated in detail. A general theory of the construction of lattice Boltzmann models as an approximation to the Boltzmann equation is presented.

Axisymmetric lattice Boltzmann method
Physical Review E, 2008A lattice Boltzmann method is developed for incompressible axisymmetric flows. Both force and source or sink terms are incorporated into the lattice Boltzmann equation in a natural way, which is consistent in dimension with the lattice Boltzmann equation.

Rectangular lattice Boltzmann method
Physical Review E, 2010A set of rectangular lattice Boltzmann methods for fluid flows is developed. It is shown that reformulating local equilibrium distribution functions can result in the rectangular lattice Boltzmann models without the aid of an interpolation for shallow water equations, Navier-Stokes equations, and axisymmetric flow equations.
