Lattice Boltzmann model of percutaneous drug absorption

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2019
A lattice Boltzmann numerical modeling method was developed to predict skin concentration after topical application of a drug on the skin. The method is based on D2Q9 lattice spaces associated with the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK) collision term to solve ...

Two-dimensional turbulence in a massless fluid with a relativistic lattice Boltzmann model

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
We investigate a relativistic adaptation of the lattice Boltzmann method that reproduces the equations of motion for a turbulent, two-dimensional, massless hydrodynamic system.

Hybrid Lattice Boltzmann Scheme for Conductive-convective-radiative Heat Transfer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics
This paper presents the hybrid lattice Boltzmann model to study the interaction of conduction, natural convection and surface radiation. A square air-filled cavity with finite thickness walls is considered. The heat source is fixed at the top solid-fluid

Analytical solution for the lattice Boltzmann model beyond Naviers-Stokes

open access: yes, 2010
To understand lattice Boltzmann model capability for capturing nonequilibrium effects, the model with first-order expansion of the equilibrium distribution function is analytically investigated.

Application of Percolation Theory in Thermokinetics

open access: yesActa Technologica Agriculturae, 2020
The present paper focuses on the infiltration of random fluid particles through a porous wall. The thermogravimetric curve is assumed to be a non-eroded interface so that the random fluid particle can pass through the discrete boundary of it. The node on

Lattice Boltzmann model for compressible fluids [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 1992
We formulate a lattice Boltzmann model which simulates compressible fluids. By choosing the parameters of the equilibrium distribution appropriately, we are able to select the sound speed (which may be set arbitrarily low), bulk viscosity, and kinematic viscosity. This model simulates compressible flows and can include shocks.

Cross-platform programming model for many-core lattice Boltzmann simulations.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
We present a novel, hardware-agnostic implementation strategy for lattice Boltzmann (LB) simulations, which yields massive performance on homogeneous and heterogeneous many-core platforms.

Analytical solution of axi-symmetrical lattice Boltzmann model for cylindrical Couette flows

open access: yes, 2012
Analytical solution for the axi-symmetrical lattice Boltzmann model is obtained for the low-Mach number cylindrical Couette flows. In the hydrodynamic limit, the present solution is in excellent agreement with the result of the Navier-Stokes equation ...

Regularized fluctuating lattice Boltzmann model

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics
We introduce a regularized fluctuating lattice Boltzmann model (Reg-FLBM) for the D3Q27 lattice, which incorporates thermal fluctuations through Hermite-based projections to ensure compliance with the fluctuation–dissipation theorem. By leveraging the recursive regularization framework, the model achieves thermodynamic consistency for both hydrodynamic
