Granular lattice models with gravity
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2009We study the statistics of stresses at the grain scale in the context of a lattice model with gravity. The model samples all vector force balanced configurations on the lattice with equal weight. We solve for the probability distribution of local pressures and confirm our results with Monte Carlo simulations. The probability of large stresses decays as

Wind-driven, double-gyre, ocean circulation in a reduced-gravity, 2.5-layer, lattice boltzmann model
Advances in Atmospheric Sciences, 2006A coupled lattice Boltzmann (LB) model with second-order accuracy is applied to the reduced-gravity, shallow water, 2.5-layer model for wind-driven double-gyre ocean circulation. By introducing the second-order integral approximation for the collision operator, the model becomes fully explicit.

Modeling of free dendritic growth in a gravity environment by lattice Boltzmann method
The European Physical Journal E, 2020A two-dimensional model is developed to simulate dendrite growth and movement in a gravity environment. The model combines the features of cellular automaton and lattice Boltzmann methods. Two sets of distribution functions are adopted to calculate the melt flow and solute transport simultaneously.
