Testing a non-perturbative mechanism for elementary fermion mass generation: lattice setup [PDF]
In this contribution we lay down a lattice setup that allows for the nonperturbative study of a field theoretical model where a SU(2) fermion doublet, subjected to non-Abelian gauge interactions, is also coupled to a complex scalar field doublet via a ...

Finding a Bravais lattice with higher symmetry from lattice parameters of a supercell
We present an advanced algorithm that systematically identifies Bravais lattices from diffraction data, such as powder X-ray, as these data are crucial for new material development.

Czochralski Growth, Magnetic Properties and Faraday Characteristics of CeAlO3 Crystals
CeAlO3 crystals were grown in different growth atmospheres by the Czochralski method. The lattice parameters and space group of CeAlO3 crystal were determined by Rietveld structure refinement of X-ray diffraction (XRD) data. The influence of Ce4+ ions in

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.

Good lattice rules with a composite number of points based on the product weighted star discrepancy [PDF]
Rank-1 lattice rules based on a weighted star discrepancy with weights of a product form have been previously constructed under the assumption that the number of points is prime. Here, we extend these results to the non-prime case.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Obtained and Studied Structural Aspects of the Ge0.9Er0.1S Compound with Ge → Er Substitutions
In this work, Ge0.9Er0.1S was synthesised by partially replacing Ge atoms with Er atoms. The crystal structure of the resulting compound was studied by X-ray diffraction.
