Construction of lattice rules for multiple integration based on a weighted discrepancy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
High-dimensional integrals arise in a variety of areas, including quantum physics, the physics and chemistry of molecules, statistical mechanics and more recently, in financial applications. In order to approximate multidimensional integrals, one may use

Optimal Lattice-Reduction Aided Successive Interference Cancellation for MIMO Systems

open access: yes, 2007
In this letter, we investigated the optimal minimum mean-squared-error (MMSE) based successive interference cancellation (SIC) strategy designed for lattice-reduction aided multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) detectors.

High‐Temperature Phase Transformation in a V‐9Si‐6.5B Alloy: The Kinetic and Crystallographic Pathway From V5SiB2 to V8SiB4

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In situ synchrotron high‐energy X‐ray diffraction reveals the real‐time high‐temperature phase evolution of a ternary V‐9Si‐6.5B alloy. The study uncovers a kinetically delayed V5SiB2 → V8SiB4 transformation governed by massive structural and chemical barriers.

Kaon physics from lattice QCD

open access: yes, 2009
I review lattice calculations and results for hadronic parameters relevant for kaon physics, in particular the vector form factor f+(0) of semileptonic kaon decays, the ratio fK/fp of leptonic decay constants and the kaon bag parameter BK.

Effect of pressure on the electronic structure of hcp Titanium

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2011
The effect of pressure on the hexagonal close-packed structure of titanium is investigated. The lattice parameters of the equilibrium structure were determined in terms of the Gibbs free energy using the Epitaxial Bain Path method.

High‐Resolution Corrosion Fingerprinting of Alloy Libraries via Microdroplet Spectroelectrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic‐liquid microdroplet spectroelectrochemistry enables stable, localized electrochemical measurements over extended timescales. By coupling impedance spectroscopy, wetting analysis, finite‐element simulations, and operando Raman spectroscopy, it disentangles geometrical and electrochemical effects, opening new opportunities for rapid corrosion ...

Lattice Parameter Evolution during the β-to-α and β-to-ω Transformations of Iron- and Aluminum-Modified Ti-11Cr(at.%)

open access: yesCrystals
β-titanium (β-Ti) alloys are useful in diverse industries because their mechanical properties can be tuned by transforming the metastable β phase into other metastable and stable phases.

The Bain library: A Cu-Au buffer template for a continuous variation of lattice parameters in epitaxial films

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2014
Smallest variations of the lattice parameter result in significant changes in material properties. Whereas in bulk, lattice parameters can only be changed by composition or temperature, coherent epitaxial growth of thin films on single crystals allows ...

Determination of the rational constructive form of cellular communication towers

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Engineering Research, 2019
The need for reliable supports for locating and maintaining the equipment of cellular opera-tors is increasing every year. The classic version of the supports are lattice towers.

Distinct Microstructural Characteristic Lengths Defining Notch Fatigue Crack Initiation and Propagation, and Defect Tolerance in Advanced Steels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of modes of microcrack nucleation, growth and temporary arrestment at different boundaries, with the criteria for crack propagation in three scenarios: (1) large notch, (2) defect/small sharp notch, and (3) long crack. This work revisits and integrates results on the fatigue behavior of advanced bainitic steels (in particular ...
