The QCD transition is studied using lattice simulations. The order of the transition is determined via a finite volume analysis. It is found to be an analytic crossover. The transition temperature is determined in physical units using three different definitions.

Progress in Lattice QCD is slow, but steady. In this talk I shall review recent advances, both technical and numerical, and assess the present state of numerical simulations.

Lattice QCD Results and Prospects
New Fields and Strings in Subnuclear Physics, 2002In the Standard Model, quarks and gluons are permanently confined by the strong interaction into hadronic bound states. The values of the quark masses and the strengths of the decays of one quark flavour into another cannot be measured directly, but must be deduced from experiments on hadrons.

In this chapter, we review the basics and motivations of this thesis. The main subject of this paper is the relation between the non-perturbative phenomena such as quark-confinement and chiral symmetry breaking in QCD. First of all, I review the basics of QCD, including order parameters for confinement and Banks–Casher relation.
