This chapter presents an overview of the chemistry and pharmacology of the alkaloids found in species of the Lauraceae family. The occurrence of alkaloids from Lauraceae species as well as their chemical structures is summarized in informative and easy-to-understand tables. Within the Lauraceae family, the genera Ocotea (195), Litsea (180), Cryptocarya

Chemogeography ofAniba (Lauraceae)
Plant Systematics and Evolution, 1981A comparison between geographical distribution and secondary metabolites of 18 species ofAniba (Lauraceae) leads to a coherent picture of spatial and chemical evolution of these species. In chemical evolution, general mechanisms as blocking of reaction steps leading to primary metabolites and diversification of secondary metabolites within biogenetic ...

Chemosystematics of the lauraceae
Phytochemistry, 1972Abstract The various chemical constituents of the Lauraceae are discussed in relation to the taxonomy of the family. Although there is a great paucity of data, the variation in the arylpropanoids, alkaloids, flavanoids and terpene constituents is in general in agreement with the subdivision of the family put forward by Kostermans.
